Grace McMillan can't remember a time in her life when she didn't feel the presence of God. Born in Canada, she moved to Guthrie, Oklahoma at age 17 and worked at Faith Publishing House with Wayne Murphey for about three years before her marriage to Lee McMillan in 1985. They lived in Louisiana for a few years and moved back to Oklahoma before the birth of their two children. Widowed at 28, Grace's faith was forged in the fire of single parenthood. "You can let life's trials make -- or break you," she says. "I had only one goal: to make it through this day, one day at a time." Grace and Wayne have been friends for years and she was happy to get a phone call one day, inviting her to travel with them to the Philippines. "I've always had a heart for God's work and I was delighted to travel with Wayne and Mary. We'd done some other gospel traveling together, and I knew God's blessings would accompany us there as they had many times before." In 2002, Wayne Murphey and Grace McMillan, with the help of a group of dedicated Christians, established the non-denominational congregation called Church of God Outreach. The church is providing an avenue for God’s spirit to minister to others through regular services, special gatherings, missionary efforts and concerts.
